Northwestern University student webpage pulled

The sysadmin's email:

I am one of the system administrators of commweb.

I've received two independent complaints about your e-mail/web survey, suggesting that people are receiving an excessive number of copies of the survey. As a result of these complaints, pending further action, I've deactivated your web page on commweb, and asked others to investigate further.

It's possible that some of these complaints are the result of an unintentional side effect: mailing to a large list containing a number of unreachable addresses sometimes results in sendmail sending repeated copies.

I think there's also a policy question as to whether this is an appropriate use of the net and IT systems.

I'd request that you not mail any more surveys, until the question of what you are doing has received further review.
