Profesional interests and activities:

Brief Bio:

Instrumental and music education specialist and researcher. Contributor to Journal of Research in Music Education, Music Educators Journal, General Music Today, College Music Symposium, Quarterly Journal of Music Teaching and Learning, and Research Studies in Music Education.
Developer of customized music composition software including recent Digital Teaching Portfolio for all teacher certification candidates at Northwestern University.
Former faculty member, Ithaca College; former lecturer, DePaul University; former music instructor and director of bands at public schools in Indiana and Wisconsin.
Research member, Center for the Study of Education and the Musical Experience. Member, Music Educators National Conference, College Music Society, Association for Technology in Music Instruction, and American Educational Research Association.
Research interests in creative thinking in music and technology.
Current chair of the Music Educators Journal editorial review board. Board member for music education for the College Music Society. Project director for MICNet
Past chair of the National MENC Creative Thinking Special Research Interest Group and .
Currently serves as the coordinator of music education, and advisor for students in the Masters of Music Education program at Northwestern University.
