Introduction

The Battle Pavane is a piece by Tielman Susato, a Renassiance Composer and arranged by Bob Margolis. This piece is arranged from a collection of popular dance tunes published by the composer in 1551. The piece was set for Band by Bob margolis in 1981

This WebQuest project is to better inform the student of the period of this piece through learning more about the culture as well as listening to other pieces of music from this time from online sources. This will hopefully broaden a student's understanding and knowledge of this piece as well as the culture itself and enhance the performance of this piece.

4. Compare and contrast "The Battle Pavane" with other pieces that were also written at the time.

Students will answered questions that are posted under Process using the links under Resources and turn in their answer sheet on March 31st 2000. They may write this on a sheet of notebook paper or use the worksheet that has alreay been set up.
