It is the only theatre organization in America which has the development of professional theatre for young audiences and international exchange as its primary mandates.

ASSITEJ/USA Accomplishments . . .

ASSITEJ/USA member theatres performed for over 9.6 million people during the 1993-94 season.

ASSITEJ/USA has grown from seventy Organizational Members in 1993 to almost one hundred in 1994. Additionally, there are more than two hundred Individual Members.

ASSITEJ/USA received major leadership gants of $175,000 from the Lila Wallace--Reader's Digest Fun and $27,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts to convene "One Theatre World."

ASSITEJ/USA Board of Directors is composed of twenty-one theatre profesionals representing every region of the United States.

ASSITEJ/USA International will celebrate 30 years of service to theatre for young audiences around the world in Seattle at "One Theatre World" in 1995. It presently has ASSITEJ Centers in 57 countries.

Representatives from over 24 countries particiapated in "One Theatre World," which was presented in 1995 in partnership with Seattle International Children's Festival and in concert with the Seattle Children's Theatre.
